True prosperity lies in the soul. In 3 John 1:2 John the Apostel expresses his heart felt wish to the church in saying "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, EVEN AS THY SOUL PROSPERETH. In other words, you can't prosper above the prosperity of your soul.
When I talk of prosperity, I mean Success! That a person is rich does not mean the individual is successful. Successful people are those who have faced battles and have overcome. No matter who you are, there's a basic battle for all men, "THE BATTLE FOR YOU".
You as an individual are made up of Soul, spirit and body. The real you having a human experience through your body is your spirit. However, your soul is the seat of your reasoning and emotions as inspired by your spirit. When the Apostle spoke about prospering in your Soul, he didn't mean becoming mentally and humanly sharp to respond to issues but rather being matured in your renewed mind to conform to the mind of Christ which you possess as a Child of God. When preachers of the gospel talk of being born again we are simply talking of a recreation of your spirit by God(John 1:13) in which The Spirit of God bares witness with your spirit that you are a Child of God(Rom 8:16), and thus have access into the kingdom of God (John 3:3-5).
So you see, until there's a Christ mentality, you're bound to fail. A Christ mentality is simply having the mind of Christ, 1 Cor 2:16. With Christ-like mentality, you see yourself as God sees you and when you begin to walk in that light, it results in you overcoming as 1 John 5:4 says "For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith."
If you want to be rich, INVEST IN YOUR SALVATION! LET THE SPIRIT OF GOD BARE WITNESS WITH YOUR SPIRIT THAT YOU ARE A CHILD OF GOD AND SURELY YOUR SOUL WILL OVERCOME THE BATTLE THAT MAKE YOU INFERIOR-The battle with doubt!
You can be prosperous only if you are so as your spirit on the testimony of the Holy Spirit tells your soul!
YOU CAN'T BE POOR!
JESUS LOVES YOU AND SO DIED FOR YOU! JOHN 3:16 FOR GOD so LOVED the world(YOU), that HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, that WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM SHOULD NOT PERISH, BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE. You should not perish! Rather HAVE ETERNAL LIFE in your Spirit by FAITH in Christ Jesus and confess Him as your LORD and PERSONAL SAVIOUR. When you do so you activate two principles of prosperity which are in Rom 10:9-10 as well as Matthew 6:33 which says "But SEEK ye FIRST the KINGDOM of God, and his RIGHTEOUSNESS; and ALL THESE THINGS SHALL be ADDED UNTO you.
